God Hates Nerds [Protest]

It seems that the members of the Topeka, Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church aren't very happy about the San Diego Comic-Con. According to them, it's a gathering of lost souls who are obsessively worshipping false idols like Batman: More

Public radio remakes itself by entering the iPhone age (Ars Technica)

When Public Radio Exchange (PRX) developed the free  Public Radio Player for the iPhone, the nonprofit hoped for 500,000 downloads. It now has 2.5 million. "I'm very happy with that number," says PRX executive director Jake Shapiro. He should be. Sprint Overdrive hands-on

If you were worried that packing WiMAX into a MiFi-like device would end up bloating it by a thousand percent, we're very happy to report that you'd be wrong. The Overdrive's only marginally bigger than a MiFi and takes on a diamond-cut square shape (as opposed to the MiFi's rectangle) while adding a monochrome LCD up front that can be triggered on by touching (but not pressing) the power button. Other than that, you've got a micro-USB port, a microSD slot... and, well, that's about it. For something designed to slide into your pocket, we'd have it no other way. Japan Developing Its Own Stealth Fighter Jet [Airplanes]

This is the Shinshin ATD-X, the prototype of what could be Japan's very own stealth fighter if they don't get to buy Lockheed Martin F-22s. It's very sleek, but I'm sad it doesn't transform like a Varitech. The Japanese military seems to be very happy about it, although it's not clear it will ever pass the prototype test phase. For now, only a full scale mockup for radar profiling—it appears as a group of insects or a bird, they say—and a RC model have been built. [ Flight Global ]

Why I decided to Jailbreak my iPhone

I have had an iPhone now, for about a year and a half, I absolutely love my iPhone and don’t see myself moving away from it anytime soon. Apple has an amazing product, but I find it somewhat limiting in some areas. I used the iPhone un-jail-broken for over a year, and was very happy with it, but it did have some major issues that caused problems for me. Reason #1: iRealQuickSMS ($4.99 Cydia) My girlfriend loves to text. We text each other probably about 100 times a day sometimes
