It Only Gives You 32GB, But the OCZ Onyx Is Still An SSD Under $100 [Ssds]

32GB, 64MB cache, and read and write speeds of 25MB/s and 70MB/s aren't terribly exciting when it comes to a solid state drive, but the OCZ Onyx still caught our eye because it's among the first SSDs to slip below $100. [ Hot Hardware via CrunchGear ] More

ModisTech to commercialize cheap, flexible OLED lighting this year

It's far from the only one working on flexible OLED lighting , but it looks like ModisTech could be among the first to actually bring something to market, as its now announced that it will begin commercialization of its 150 x 150mm flexible OLED panels this year (seemingly ahead of its original 2011 schedule). Those will apparently be used for various indirect lighting applications including desk lamps and car lighting, and promise to provide a more natural light than LEDs while maintaining some of the same power savings. Still no word on any actual products using the OLED panels, unfortunately, but they will supposedly be inexpensive for companies to adopt (and very cheap to manufacture). ModisTech to commercialize cheap, flexible OLED lighting this year originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 20 Feb 2010 06:51:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds . Permalink

Soon Toy Cars Will Be Powered by Mountain Dew [Energy]

Glucose-powered bio-batteries aren't a brand new idea , but Japanese toymaker Takara may be among the first to attempt to use them in their products. They've made some prototype remote controlled toy cars which run on our favorite sweet drinks. Apparently those cars are powered by energy "generated by using enzymes to break down glucose found in sugary drinks" such as sodas, energy drinks, or fruit juice. One 8cc dose of such a liquid will keep a toy car running for 60 minutes and the higher the sugar content, the faster the cars will run. This leaves two questions: When can I play with one of these and which soda will make it go the fastest? [ CrunchGear ] Picture by Paxton Holley

OCZ Colossus 3.5-Inch SSD Reaches 1TB, Super Speeds [Ssds]

OCZ's new Colossus drives are among the first SSDs designed for desktops, and they're the very first to store up to 1TB of data. Oh, and on top of all that, they work pretty well, too. PC Perspective tested one of OCZ's 256GB Colossus drives and found "read and write speeds are about as fast as SATA 3Gb/sec will go!" It's nuts that our drives are finally catching up with the plentiful, SATA pipelines, even if OCZ has hacked speeds a bit by essentially building one giant drive out of four smaller SSDs. Whatever works. Now to sell a spare kidney for the $3300, 1TB configuration. Read the full testing results at: [ PC Perspective ]

Control The Success Of Your Internet Business With One Simple Step

Motivational speaker Anthony Robbins once said, “If you want to be successful, find someone who achieved the results you want and copy what they do, and you’ll achieve the same results.” It’s an idea I became familiar with many years ago… When I was first getting started online, I made a lot of mistakes. Not because I wasn’t trying to model successful businesses, but because there simply weren’t businesses online to model. (In 1996, I was among the first handful of people to actually start s

Toshiba driver updates for netbooks

Toshiba has just released a range of driver updates for their netbook range, which isn't surprising, really, considering the fact that Windows 7 is just on the horizon before being released.
